Background

First and foremost, we would like to congratulate you on your acceptance into Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, UTM. As stated in your offer letter, you are required to take and pass Bridging Programme (Faculty Foundation), a programme managed by UTM-IDP department of SPACE, a school in UTM. Bridging Programme may take up to 1-2 semesters, depending on your performance. Therefore, you are required to pass this Programme prior to your registration into your respective faculties.

However, students may be exempted from Bridging Programme IF they passed a series of exams called Bridging Exemption Test (BET). This test is not compulsory, as students can decide not to take the Bridging Exemption Test and therefore continue with the Bridging Programme for that semester.

Important Announcement

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, Bridging Exemption Test will only be offered to international students who are allowed to come to Malaysia, and are already in Malaysia on the date of the exam, since the Test will be conducted face-to-face. The second session of the Test will be held on 19th-20th October 2020. Hence, if you are not in Malaysia on the date of the exam, it is advisable that you do not register for the BET. Therefore, you are required to continue with Bridging Programme.

Structure of the Bridging Exemption Test

a. Bridging Exemption Test is a module test, constructed based on the content lectures of Bridging Programme. You are required to sit for the test module according to the Bachelor of Degree programme that UTM has offered you. Table 1 shows the test courses for each module.
